      1/4  cup           ketchup
      1/4  cup           soy sauce, low sodium
      1/4  cup           packed brown sugar
      1/4  cup           rice wine vinegar
    2      tablespoons   white wine
    1      tablespoon    cornstarch
    1      clove         garlic -- minced
    4                    green onions -- cut in 1" slices
                          -- (white and green)
    1      piece         fresh ginger root -- quarter-sized
                          -- peeled and minced
                         Salt and ground white pepper -- to taste
 
 Combine all the ingredients in a food processor fitted with a metal blade or in
a 
 blender and process til smooth, or combine in a bowl. taste and adjust flavors.
 
 Pour mixture into a saucepan over medium-low heat and cook, stirring, 
 til thickened, about 10 to 15 minutes.
 
 Serve warm.
